Workup for Female and Male Infertility
“Why?”
It’s the most common question men and women ask when they can’t conceive. They want to know why they can’t have a baby or carry it to term, and it’s our job to find the answers.
When you go through a workup for female or male infertility, you will finally get the answer to that burning question. Then, you can take the next steps to having a healthy baby.
Workup for Female Infertility
If you cannot get pregnant after a year of trying, you are dealing with infertility issues. We will work with you to get to the bottom of the problem.
This begins with a history and physical. The physical examination includes a pelvic ultrasound to look for abnormalities in the reproductive system. This helps us determine if you will benefit from medications to stimulate your ovaries.
An assessment of the ovarian reserve is also conducted during the workup. Our team analyses the remaining egg supplies via blood testing and an ultrasound.
The ovulation assessment is next. Close to a quarter of female ovulation issues are caused by an ovulation disorder. We evaluate your body temperature to determine if you have an ovulation issue. If you do, we work to fix it so you can conceive a child.
Structural problems could also be at the root of your infertility issue. In fact, close to a quarter of women cannot conceive due to structural problems. We use a hysterosalpingogram to test the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes.
Your workup might also include:
Laparoscopy
Ovarian Function Test
Infection Disease Testing
Immunity Screening
We will also test your partner to make sure he isn’t the cause of the fertility issue.
