Fertility Counselling

If you’re dealing with fertility issues, it can feel as if the world is crashing down around you. You might feel scared, afraid, and hopeless. Worst of all, you might feel alone.

You are far from alone, though. One in six couples in Australia experience fertility issues. That means one in six couples is dealing with a range of emotions that can be overwhelming.

Fortunately, no one has to deal with fertility issues on their own. Instead of turning inward and trying to bury your emotions, seek help from a fertility counsellor. Your counsellor will help you deal with the emotions as they come up. You will learn how to deal with the emotional highs and lows in a healthy, productive way. You will also be able to formulate a plan to handle your fertility issues and treatments.

Your fertility counsellor will be a member of your fertility team. Your counsellor will work in accordance with your family’s goals. Your counsellor will help you understand the various procedures and what to expect. He or she will prepare you for all possible outcomes and put you in the position to create a joyful, productive family.

During the process, your counsellor will treat the wide range of issues that come with fertility problems. Your counsellor can help you handle depression, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, and stress.

While many couples deal with stress, anxiety, and depression when facing fertility issues, no one person is the same. One person might handle depression differently than another person, just as one person might handle stress differently. That is why it is important to customize a treatment plan for each person.

We offer couple and individual counselling for patients. Cognitive behavioural therapy is available for those who need to train their brains to process information differently. Group and support group therapy is also available.

With so many options, you can get the type of treatment you need. You can combine treatments if necessary. The team will help you identify the treatment plan that’s best for you.

Some people think there is a stigma attached to therapy, so they don’t want to seek it out. Going to a therapist does not mean you are weak or incapable to handle your issues. Instead, it means that you have the strength to understand that you need a healthy way to cope with the issues you face.

We will work with you to help you determine if you could benefit from a therapist. If necessary, we will schedule an appointment and get you into therapy as soon as possible. Then, you can begin working out the issues you face on a daily basis.

We aren’t just a fertility facility. We are your partner in the process. We believe in taking a holistic approach to fertility, meaning we treat the body and the mind. Contact us for a free consultation so we can begin helping you today.
